“The Littlest Angel” Flies To DVD This Week!!!

Polish your Halo…The Littlest Angel Flies To Your House This Week!

This week, Anchor Bay Entertainment released the DVD of the new animated feature film, The Littlest Angel.  A colorful adaptation of the  fifteenth best-selling children’s book of all time, The Littlest Angel takes us on a rousing adventure with a young, and sometimes mischievous, Angel, who must return to earth and earn his wings, a task that doesn’t prove to be easy. Experience the love, laughter and magic of one of the most popular children’s stories of all time. From the classic book by Charles Tazewell, comes this lively CGI animated version filled with both humor and heart.

I was thrilled to receive a copy of this great DVD from Anchor Bay Entertainment.  The Littlest Angel tells the story of a young boy who arrives in heaven before his time.  Home-sick and lonely, he will travel back to earth, with his friendly pup Halo, to retrieve a most selfless and precious gift for The Baby Jesus. First released in book form in 1946, The Littlest Angel became popular for its ornate words and phrases paired with beautifully muted oil paintings. Tazewell’s book was adapted into a TV musical in 1969 starring Johnny Whitaker, and theatrical versions continue to be done by schools and church groups today.

It’s a modern twist on the timeless tale of an Angel that discovers the greatest gifts in life are faith, friendship and doing the right thing. This new version of The Littlest Angel features wonderful animation and great vocal talent, including Ron Perlman (“Beauty and The Beast,” Tangled), and is sure to become a holiday favorite, much like the book it’s based on. TheLittlest Angel is a motion picture that will put a smile on everyone’s face, and what better gift is there than that.

If you are looking for a heartwarming movie this Holiday Season that will quickly become a favorite, check out The Littlest Angel on DVD.  Mommy Ramblings thinks this DVD makes a great gift that parents and kids will enjoy to watch together.  We are putting it on our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

Nick Jr., “Wow Wow Wubbzy And The Fire Engine” DVD, Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Anchor Bay Entertainment

Sound the alarm!  Everyone’s favorite bendy-tailed hero comes to the rescue in Wubbzy And The Fire Engine,” the latest “Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!” DVD from Anchor Bay Entertainment.  Featuring Wubbzy and his pals from the Emmy Award®-winning Nick Jr.® TV series, the new “red hot” release is available at retailers nationwide now – just in time for National Fire Prevention Week, which starts on October 9.

“Fire engines and firefighters have long captured the imagination and won the hearts of children,” said Erin Carter, Executive Director of Brand Marketing, Anchor Bay Entertainment.  “And, when paired with Wubbzy, another favorite among preschoolers, these universally-popular elements take on a whole new level of appeal.  We look forward to bringing ‘Wubbzy And The Fire Engine’ and all the fun episodes on the new DVD to Wubbzy fans everywhere.”

 Wubbzy and his best buddies, Widget, Walden and Daizy, suit up for six memorable stories in “Wubbzy And The Fire Engine” ($16.98).  Each of the new title’s engaging episodes feature gentle lessons about helping out, working together and getting the job done that will resonate with kids everywhere.  This latest release whisks preschoolers along as Wubbzy has a fire engine adventure with Widget in “Wubbzy And The Fire Engine”; delivers Daizy’s doodleberry treats – the Wubbzy way – in “What Would Wubbzy Do?” and helps rebuild a neighbor’s house with a little help from a pro in “Ty Ty The Tool Guy,” featuring the voice of Ty Pennington, host of the popular TV series “Extreme Home Makeover.”

Additional episodes include “Mr. Unlucky,” in which Wubbzy realizes he’s a pretty lucky guy after all; “Wuzzleburg Express,” where Walden uses quick-thinking to save the day from a runaway train; and “Hangin’ With Mr. Gummy,” which reminds preschoolers that fun comes in many different forms!

Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! has been a hit with young viewers and their families since its 2006 TV premiere on Nickelodeon®, and the show currently airs daily on Nick Jr.  Wubbzy is a fun, lovable, curious little guy who just likes to play, play, play with his friends in the eye-popping town of Wuzzleburg.  The top-rated series supports preschool social skills – sharing, listening, compromising, helping and appreciating others, self-awareness and the use of humor as a coping skill.

Although their world is more fanciful and imaginative than our own, Wubbzy and his friends deal with the same social and developmental issues faced by preschoolers.  They learn how they fit into a group, how to understand their own feelings and those of others, how to get along with one another and the value of friendship and community.

Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!is produced by Bolder Media, Inc. in association with Starz Media’s Film Roman Animation Studio.  It is a worldwide hit that is broadcast in 60+ countries.

My little ones really enjoyed this DVD and I am sure it will be a well requested favorite around here.  It teaches little ones good values and is enjoyable for them to watch. I like the bonus features of coloring and activity sheets, music videos and sneak peeks too.  It is a great springboard into Fire Prevention Week.  There are 6 great Wubbzy episodes on this 70 minute DVD.

I am thrilled to annouce that Anchor Bay Entertainment is sponsoring a give-away on Mommy Ramblings.  One lucky Mommy Rambling’s  blog reader will win their own copy of this great DVD.  Thank you Anchor Bay Entertainment for the review DVD and for sponsoring this great give-away on Mommy Ramblings!!!  Open to US Residents.

VeggieTales DVD, “Princess and the Pop Star” Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was recently sent the VeggieTales DVD, “Princess and the Pop Star” A Story of Trading Places, to review.  Last weekend, I popped it in for the kids to watch with us.  This family-friendly title teaches an important lesson about being yourself.  Princess Poppyseed, lives on her family’s farm and never has time to herself.  She has a big family and she longs for the life of Pop Star Vanna Banana.  Meanwhile Vanna is upset with how lonely her life is and how she wishes she had brothers and sisters.  On a chance meeting at the playground Vanna and Princess change places and the girls both realize, that the life that they longed for doesn’t fulfill all their dreams.  The girls learn that the life that God gave them is the life that they were uniquely and lovingly designed for.

DVD features the new song, “You Never Are” from Dove Award winning Female Vocalist of the Year, Francesca Battistelli.

This is such a great DVD that tells the story that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.  My boys loved all the singing and cute characters.  As a parent I like that this DVD shows kids that just because another person’s life seems better, does not mean it is.  The songs and the story are entertaining and it is a great family movie.

DVD Bonus Features:

  • Audio Commentary
  • “Astonishing Wigs” Silly Songs Sing-Along
  • “Right Where You Belong” Sing-Along
  • Behind the music with Francesca Battistelli and Friends
  • Princess Poppyseed’s Points For Being Uniquely You
