Nordic Ware Pro Cast Cute Cupcake Pan Review & Give-Away!!! ***Give-Away Closed***

Nordic Ware told me I could choose any product of theirs to review and I chose the Pro Cast Cute Cupcake Pan.   I have to say right upfront, that today was intensely busy for us.  We were putting up a fence, stone wall, and planting a new perennial flower bed.  It is also Memorial Day Weekend and so I was visiting with my Aunt and Uncle and making BBQ corn on the cob to go with the pulled pork my husband cooked all day in the slow cooker.  It was hot and we were tired and if my daughter had not said she was leaving tomorrow, I would not have even attempted the review tonight.  It was nearly 8pm when I started to bake the first cake.  I used a box chocolate cake mix and I was not sure how high to fill the pans, the pan said 6 cups of cake batter.

I filled it almost to the top and it ended up looking like a popover but was easily corrected by just leveling off the excess cake.  After I did that it looked good and it released from the pan so easily and completely.

Then I decided to make another, but fill it less full.  I filled it about half way this time and I still needed to level off some of the cake but not too much.  I made about 10 cupcakes with the leftover batter.    I made my homemade buttercream frosting which I tinted hot pink for the chocolate cupcake and left white for the yellow cupcakes.  I tried piping on the icing with my decorator bag and star tip but with the heat, the buttercream was not setting up right for it.  So plan B was just to ice with an offset spatula.  I attached the top to the bottom of each large cupcake with a layer of icing and then just iced the tops and added some sprinkles.  You can see the size difference due to me using more batter with the chocolate cake.  I think the pan worked great and like I said it released both times very easily and completely.  I used a baking spray to coat the pan and it worked really well.

I think I will attempt this again on a cooler day and the best part is that after I rushed myself nearly to death to get these done, my daughter tells me now she is not leaving until Monday morning.   Oh well, I am sure you get the idea and if they came out this well in a hot rush, you can imagine how nice they can be when you have a little time to devote to them.

Nordic Ware  is sponsoring a give-away of the same pan on Mommy Ramblings.  So one lucky Mommy Ramblings’ reader will win their very own  Nordic Ware Pro Cast Cute Cupcake Pan!!!

Gardens Grow With Love!!!

I love when it is time to garden again.  I enjoy having a garden,  tending the garden, photographing the garden, and best of all harvesting the garden.  This is my second season using the two large raised beds my hubby built me last year.  We have had so much rain that it has been hard to get things started but we did get the soil turned over and most of the veggies planted.  I have a few more to put in and some patio tomatoes to plant since I accidentally bought too many tomato plants.  One can never have too many tomatoes so I bought some patio containers and will grow them there.

I also am growing my herbs in containers on the deck.  Last year I had my basil, parsley, peppermint, spearmint and oregano in the garden but this year I put it in pots.  I am still in the process of transplanting the perennial and spreading mint from the garden to the containers because of the rain thwarting my best efforts.  The local nursery did not have the zucchini and yellow squash plants in because of the rain, so I will have to try next weekend for them.  I did manage to plant a variety of tomatoes like big boys, beefsteak, early girls, cherry, yellow heirloom, and probably at least another variety I am forgetting.  I did not plant any hot peppers this year because I did last year and my husband who they were for did not eat them but ate the sweet peppers.  So now I have a great variety of sweet peppers like sweet cherry peppers, sweet banana peppers, and a variety of purple, green and red bell peppers.  I have purple and white eggplants, cucumbers, butternut squash, jack be littles, Howden pumpkins, blue lake green beans and sugar snap peas.

In the herb department I planted rosemary, cilantro, oregano, sweet mint, peppermint, spearmint, basil, thyme, dill, lavender, Italian parsley, and probably a couple of others that I am forgetting right now.

I am planting rhubarb for the first time this year, and we are starting a variety of grapes as well.   We would have everything planted if the rain would stop but we are doing what we can and we are not that behind.

ShāToBu™- The Workout You Wear, Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

ShāToBu is the manufacturer of a revolutionary line of  shapers that are literally a workout you wear.  It is a tummy shaping, muscle toning, calorie burning shaper that is like no other.

 The great staff at

ShāToBu let me choose any shaper I wanted to review, and I chose the

ShāToBu™ – High Waist to Knee Shaper

I really liked this shaper, it was firm yet comfortable and something I could wear all day without feeling uncomfortable.  It was undetectable under my clothes, but its effects were not.  It helped to take care of problem areas like tummy bulges and such that many of us Moms know all too well.  It made me feel great and while I have no tests to tell me if I burned more calories wearing it, I definitely did feel that I very well could have given the resistance bands.  I had more confidence wearing it and I was able to wear it under a multitude of clothing choices and felt better in everything I tried on.  I would definitely recommend this shaper to my friends and readers.

Would you like a chance to win a ShāToBu product of your choice?  If so, you will be thrilled to learn that ShāToBu is sponsoring a give-away on Mommy Ramblings.  Read the rules below and enter to win your product of choice and size from their website.  Good luck everyone!!!

If you are in Atlanta, Georgia, you need to visit the Georgia Aquarium!!!

The wonderful folks at Georgia Aquarium brought us in for a full day of fun while we were recently in Atlanta.  Our day started with  “Growing Guppies,”  which is a program for 2 -5 year olds.  Luke and Ethan got the VIP treatment, they were the only ones and had a private session that included behind the scenes tour where they got to go to the top of the tanks in the back.  That was super cool for both the kiddies and Jimi and I.  We were inches from the Whale Shark they were learning about that day.  They got to wear lab coats and carry clipboards and make a Whale Shark hat.  It was really fun and we had wonderful knowledgeable staff with us that tailored the experience to Ethan and Luke.

A Magnificent Whale Shark swimming right by us.

The culmination of the "Growing Guppies" program was meeting the friendly and cuddly Whale Shark!!!

After that we were set to explore the world’s largest aquarium.  We had a lot to cover, but it was so exciting and the exhibits were so captivating we were in awe the whole time.  The hands on exhibits were a highpoint of Ethan’s day.  He loved touching and petting the rays, that was great fun.  Walking through the see through tunnels in the tanks was just awesome, we got to view these magnificent creatures from all angles.

Very captivated by the fish with his little pearly whites!!!

So much to see!!!

So many colors!!!

Can you find Nemo?

We were in for a real treat later in the day at the “AT&T Dolphin Tales Show.”    This fantastic show just premiered at the Georgia Aquarium on April 2, 2011.  The show was 2 years in the making and is dedicated to creating memorable connections between humans and animals and helping guests better understand one of mankind’s favorite aquatic animals, the majestic dolphin.   Since no flash photography or video is allowed, I cannot share images with you but trust me the show is a must see when visiting the aquarium.   An original score was performed and recorded by a 61-piece orchestra at Sony Studios in Hollywood. Emmy-winning producers and directors, along with a team of talented individuals from TV, film and Broadway, developed the show. Some of the world’s most accomplished animal trainers were recruited. Together, they have created an experience which motivates and inspires guests.

One of the stars, posing before the show!!!

We had lunch at the aquarium which was enjoyable and offered a wide selection of food and drinks to suit everyone’s individual taste.  Once we were refueled we were ready to take on the rest of the day.

With two toddlers, it is sometimes hard to find activities and venues that can capture their attention for a day  but the Georgia Aquarium succeeded with flying colors or should I say flying fish!!!

If you are looking for a great aquarium to visit then be sure to plan a trip to the Georgia Aquarium, you will not be disappointed.

After a trip to the gift shop for two cuddly friends and some T-shirts we were on our way back to the hotel but we had memories to last a lifetime.  Thank you Georgia Aquarium for all you did to ensure we had a wonderful visit.  We truly appreciate all your time and effort.
